Thanksgiving Dinner

For several years we have been the first choice production providers for Northeastern University's London campus.

Together with one of our regular collaborators, At Home Catering, we have overseen all production requirements for a number of Northeastern University's events, including key seminars, guest productions, Welcome Week and Graduation support. As Thanksgiving is a National holiday in the USA, it is an important date in the University’s calendar and their annual Thanksgiving Celebration Dinner always promises to be a night to remember.

The festivities for 2024 saw the University take over Lindley Hall for an autumnal dinner 'under the stars'. Lightwave was tasked with providing all lighting, sound and projection required to transform the vast, empty banquet hall into a forest oasis.

The white walls of the venue made perfect canvases for projection. Integrating University branding and holiday wishes, we created animated graphics of gently falling leaves to create thematic movement within the space helping to soften the surroundings. The venue's high ceilings allowed us to create a double layered lighting design; while a warm night sky of blues and purples filled the vast arched ceiling, diners were immersed in a soft pallet of autumnal tones which dappled across the tables to transform the cavernous white columned hall into a warm, cozy evening as though the attendees were in the great outdoors.

Students, lecturers and stakeholders of the University dined and celebrated together with all the traditional trimmings. The evening concluded with a DJ and drinks reception for guests to socialise and celebrate into the night.
